Think of it this way. When you are hard on the gas, the weight of the car is transfered to the back. When you let off the gas abruptly, it shifts the weight to the front (like when yer breaking and you yourself get pushed forward). Transferring weight to the front means your rear gets lighter. A lighter rear = less traction.

So when yer in mid turn and you let off the gas and engage the clutch, yer essentially lightening the rear causing it to twitch/loose a little grip. If yer getting twitchy at lower speeds doing this, you may want to check out your tires

The s2000 has a very stiff suspension, making it very sensative to these things. Many people (especially with ap1's) have learned this the hard way, including myself.

I've heard that engaging the clutch in mid turn on a bike is even worst, and a BIG no no.

BTW, best motoring has a video on drifting techniques, explaining like 6 different ways of getting the rear loose for drifting. I learned a lot about weight transfer and how to avoid, as well as cause the rear to loosin up. Check it out, very educational, and just plain entertaining.

thanks for the reply, that makes a lot of sense, and I'll definitely avoid this situation in the future. Unfortunately driving fwd for so many years has made me numb , and the s2000 has awaken my senses thank god .
