Default Rear end trouble

Has anyone else ever had problems with the rear end of their car. I got my car with 34,000 miles on it. At about 45,000 the differential blew. I had it replaced and then at 49,000 miles the splines on the right axle stripped and that had to be replaced. After the first incident my driving style changed dramatically. I quit the donuts and the clutch drops, but i did still enjoy a little backroad driving. But now I have just over 60,000 miles on it and the Differential is going again.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this...

what symptoms are you having that the differential is going again? Have you done any/many clutch drops on the new one? Last but maybe most importantly, who put the fluid in and WHAT fluid? Many dealers do not know the correct fluid and put the VTM fluid which is for other hondas.

And what exactly does this mean? You've already stated your rough use of the car. Your "little back road driving" may be still very harsh. It may be what "HondaS2001" posted but then, it might just be that you're driving style is still conducive to breaking the rear diff on this car. And maybe the previous work done on the diff was sub-standard.

launching and donuts arent the only way to strain the diff. Powershifting, snapping the clutch on shifts, and rigorous downshifts are also hard on the diff. Like xviper said, it depends on what exactly is meant by "a little backroad driving".

its not a common terminology.... i just meant letting off the clutch after upshifting or downshifting very hard, almost like sidestepping it.

This is also akin to what you would do in a rolling clutch dump or keeping the revs abnormally high at the time of a rapid clutch release after a shift. This is the common way of "chirping" the tires on a 1-2, 2-3 shift. If memory serves me, in the "old" days of drag racing, this would be refered to as a "hammer shift" (not letting go of the gas during a shift). A "speed" shift would be one where you don't lift off the gas AND don't touch the clutch. (VERY dangerous.)
