Rear End Shaking Problem
Hey guys, I had a problem last month, it was my rear differential. I picked up a used on in good condition on here and the local honda dealership put it on. I havnt driven very much and been really busy, so i didnt worry about it, but my car is shaking really bad when i give it gas. The dealer noticed the problem when they installed the diff, but doesnt know what it is. I took it back in today because im afraid something else is going to break.
They say that i need to either put the stock shocks on or get axle spacers to correct for being lowered and go from there.
I have been lowered for over 2 years and never expierenced this shaking until the diff went out. I do not think it has anything to do wtih being lowered... what do you guys think? The dealer described the shaking as it feeling like a locking differential. Its pretty bad from 40mph+. Its fine at cruise, but as soon as you press the gas the car shakes.
I find it kind of hard to believe it doesnt have something to do with the diff installation. (or something was broken before, but they said everything else looked fine)
They said they double checked all the bolts and nothing was loose... Something has to be messed up... What do you guys think? All of your help is appreciated.

That used diff was a MY00-03?
IOW the bolt holes of the popshaft companion flange are 8 mm?
If the dealer "swapped flanges" that may be a problem if done incorrectly.
Did you buy that used diff with output shafts and do you know if they used the "used" ones or your old ones?
Your old ones would match better with your axles, but the used ones belong to the diff.. so I'm assuming they used the ones that came with the used diff and that would be best IMO.
Check out your CV's, the rubber boots should have no leaks or tears and no signs they were taken apart lately.
Vibration during acceleration sounds to me as pitted CV's.
By itself that is not a bad idea.
Putting the CV's back in their original position may reduce vibration during acceleration.

Are there any simple ways to check the axels? They said it could be the rear diff that i got, they didnt open it up, but said it looked okay. Everything else looks fine visually. CV joints/cups seem to be fine. No tears that i could find the last time i looked.
The diff is an 02.. i have an 00.. That should be okay right? I had it shipped directly to the dealer so i didnt see it and i dont know what parts they used.
