Rear end set up
Just trying to find out what the desired backlash is on a 2003. My understanding is that it should be between .05-.07 thousandths, is this correct or is thier someone that can tell me with experience. I am using Ricks 4.57r gears-do not know if this info. is needed. It is cuurently set-up at .05 thousandths, but not installed yet. Contact pattern looks great and pinion depth is also great. Thanks.

There are numbers engraved on the 4.57's.
On the pinion is the CD or Checking distance or pinion depth.
On the ring is the B for Backlash.
Stick to the manufacturers recommendations
If you want you may have a look at my install (with pictures)
