rear diff swap

Thumbs down rear diff swap

so i blew my diff and am getting a new one how easy on a scale of 1 to 10 is it to pull out an old diff and put a brand new one in?

Its actually pretty easy, but it is pretty heavy, takes too people to get it out safely if you are on jackstands

If 1 = easy like an oil change and 10 = hard like rebuilding the transmission, then it is about a 4-5. You may need some "special" tools like a ball joint puller, a torque wrench (possibly more than 1 since you will need one that goes up to 220ft-lb), a large socket for the axle nut and an impact wrench.

Fairly easy/ Ball joint popper is nice. Makes it really really easy to get the axles out of the way. The driveshaft bolts were seized on mine which was a pain. Had to dremel one out. Other than that it came out pretty easily. Instal was much easier once everything was loose and all.
