Rear diff fluid
I know this has been done to death. And yes I've read the saved forums on the subject. But I have a specific question on brand of oil. At work we use Pennzoil 80W90 GL-5, and we also have the synthetic version of that. It's 75W90 GL-5. Would this be good to use? Anybody with experience with Pennzoil or is most brands good as long as the weight and GL are correct? I don't race it. I mostly just drive it on the weekends. At least until it warms up some.

Should be fine, it's recommended that whatever you use is 75W90 and is or exceeds GL-5 standards.
make sure it has some sort of friction modifier that is intended to be used in LSD differentials - that's the important part. if it does NOT have that they I would not use it.

I am also curious because when I took it to pennzoil for a diff oil change, they added Pennzoil Syntechtic 75W90 GL-5.
How does it compare to other oils?

There's no friction surfaces in our diff - it's a Torsen - unlike a traditional LSD
Absolutely no need for friction modifiers

I was under the same impression about the friction modifiers. The Gent, have you had any problems so far? How long has it been since you had it changed?

Only had it for about 1000 KMS and the car is now stored. From what I understand, this oil meets OEM specs and will cover my warranty (bought it with warranty -- that's why I had a shop do it)
