Rear diff/driveshaft Rattle
Hi there.
I just signed up on this forum last night hoping to gain more knowledge on the s2000 I purchased a few months ago.
BUT I was driving into work this morning. I was in 1st and went to shift around 6200 RPM and it grinded right into 2nd. I then put it into 3rd hoping it was just 2nd gear messed up.
Nothing. The car starts right up idles fine. The moment I put it into gear and go to let off the clutch to move I hear a rattling noise from the rear end.
I am going to get it on a lift tonight to try and pinpoint it a little bit more. I would guess it has to be the differential or the driveshaft.
The noise to make easier sounds like the gears rattling in the differential. Or could be the driveshaft.
Anyone have this problem before or any insight on what's going on? I am going to check it out tonight but I wanted to get an idea on what it could be while Im at work for the next 8 hours
