Default rear bumper seperation from car!

I was going over my car for an insurance claim for a various dings as well as a broken windshield, and noticed that my rear bumper is seperating from the tail lights. It is occuring along the outer/lower edge of the tail lights. Has anyone else seen this? I've also noticed that the upper and lower half of my steering column is not very "neat" as the gap gets bigger as you move away from the column itself. I'm thinking I'm just unlucky when it comes to my baby. Thanks.

There is no evidence of anyone bumping my bumper, but does anything think this is worth bringing up to my dealer? Can or would they do anything? Since my car will go into the shop soon, and they will probably need to remove the bumper, I don't want Honda blaiming the bodyshop for something that was already there.

passenger side taillight.

my bumper is off as well.

damn honda. I thought I had a lemon but I guess they're all lemons! (my car was also missing tabs in the rear trunk, the plastic in the pass. door, and mis-matched bolts on my headlights). Maybe my car was wrecked and repaired before I bought it NEW in 2002?? Thank god it's a lease.

I have exactly the same problem. I thought the car had been in a accident so i got a pre purchase inspection from an independant company and they confirmed that it had never been in an accident.

The gap is on both sides. Has anyone had success getting this fixed with Honda directly?

I have also noticed rear bumper seperation on my S2. I have the gaps on both sides. Only conclusion I came up with was that, when the car is driven all day and at highway speeds, the heat from the mufflers and the drag from the air is causing this. If you guys notice there isn't any plastic flap in the rear fender. I came to this conclusion because I noticed that the rear bumper realligns itself after sitting for at least 8 hours. This might sound weird but its true. I drive my car all day, I come home leave it in the garage next morning I wake up and the rear bumper allignes itself.
