Default Re-routing alternator to battery?

Okay, well I have a new alternator and brand new battery, both bought from Honda.
I'm having an issue where my alternator is not charging my battery. I've read somewhere, not really sure where though; that a possible solution would be to connect a booster cable from the alternator directly to the positive terminal on the battery.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

you used a multimeter to check that there isn't a voltage increase at the battery

Yeah, the battery will only read 12.5 at the most. Terminals are connections on battery are clean and well connected.

Sounds to me that its just a faulty alternator. Was the fuse bad or did you change it just to be safe

It's a brand brand brand new alternator. Not reman'd. No, the fuse wasn't bad just changed it to be safe.

s2000s also have a eld (electronic load detector) in the fuse box its similar to all the other Honda's. It controls the alternator as well. let me get you a picture
