ummm if ur scared of the axle nut i wouldnt go pulling the axle apart. no offense. it takes alittle finese.

32mm and a half inch gun. take the 6 bolts that connect the diff to the axle out and pull the ****er out. good to go. take the boot off slide it down. theres a snap ring in there probably take that off. clean the grease out put the new grease it. or ill give u my axles if u want.

Kind of related, anyone ever thought of regreasing ball joints? ... at my job i usually drill out ball joints in trucks and put grease fittings in them, im gonna try it on the S ill let yah's know.

no still pop off the axle nuts but dont un bolt either a arm. ur gonna wanna do the job on a bench. if u got a half inch gun it should be cake. or use a braker bar if u dont. and dont drill out anything and put grease fittings in. the metal shavings will wear everything out. seal ball joints are an upgrade from ball joints w a grease fitting.

your in md. im serious ill give u my axles i have upgraded axles so i dont need stock ones anymore. pay shipping ill send them to u and u dont have to worry about blowin axles.

If you really
want to replace all the CV grease... you want to have that axle on a bench.
Period.
As per Billman: with a horizontal CV joint its very likely to drop a spider bearing.
Its best to put the axle back together vertically.
The 36mm axle nut should not be a problem.
IF it was lubed as it should have been the last time you removed it.
