Mine hangs up a bit too. Remember... these cars idle at about 1000 rpm as it is. I probably wouldnt be too worried about it, until it starts to climb on its own.....

-- locations are exactly correct - oiled filter is also not the culprit, as i hardly over oil it at all - not an overly big deal in itself, but soooo much nicer when it has that "surgical" feel...instant throttle blips ect

-- regarding "what cables"? i was referring to the throttle cable

I see. Did you ever remove the "granny" slack in the cable? Your son may have which would lead to better throttle response.

-- before i did anything at all, i checked his car - everything matches up identically - the granny slack is present in both cars, we never touched it, and it was oiginally my first thought about the issue - proved not to be the cause - our throttle cables are the same - to me, it actually feels like an air leak of some sort, but everything checks out fine - must be something internal that controls fuel/air to bring idle to normal - when i drive his car it feels so much nicer, instant response

I've seen mine doing that. It's probably because of my cheap ass air intake that came with the car. I can't wait to get my stock airbox.
