Default Rattling noise (yes I have googled)

So recently my car has been making this weird noise. When I get close to 3k rpms and higher theres a rattling coming from the engine like a screw bouncing around.. it gets louder the higher rpms i get. The noise can only be heard from inside the car not from outside. I was thinking it could be the heat shield, but not too sure.. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.. thank you in advance

Yes I looked all through that. Nothing helpful.

When parked and rev'd at 3k+ do you hear the noise? Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

No, when parked and revving it, I cannot hear the noise.. only when the car is moving. Everything is stock except headers.

When I first got my car, I had the same problem. I would hear this rattle noise at 4k+ ...drove me nuts. I thought it was my heat shield/cat nuts being loose so I tighten those down but didn't help. I later swapped my POS exhaust because the pipes had cracks, solved my problem.

I assume if you can't hear it when parked, it is nothing that can damage your car.

Thank you soREALemjay, I will have the exhaust looked and and possibly upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust. This gives me a reason to add one now. lol

well if the aftermarket exhaust takes care of the rattle you will have a new noise to worry about though lol
