Default Rattle whirring noise when disengaging clutch

Hi all, i noticed my 99 Ap1 is quite noisey like whirring rattling noise when diengaging the clutch on reverse and 1st gear when applying throttle...its especially audible in cold. Is this normal for a 99 ap1? It had new syncros and has been rebuilt with new seals about 6 months ago. I had a new oem clutch and flywheel machined about a year ago by my local honda dealership all parts are genuine oem I dont get clutch buzz either as its the updated clutch disc installed. The clutch doesnt feel like its slipping and drives fine when up to speed and I dont get any noticeable vibrations or unusual noises.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Sounds like maybe the release (throwout) bearing is starting to go bad.

Thanks for the responses so far. I had the throw out bearing replaced with an genuine oem version about a year ago when the clutch was replaced how could it fail so quickly if that is actually the culprit?

No way an OEM throwout bearing would fail that quick...thats not it.

Did they change the pilot bearing? I came across a similar problem. Noises when clutch pedal is down while not moving, was a seized pilot bearing.

What does a pilot bearing look like? Is it normally part of the Honda clutch replacement procedure?

Pilot bearings aren't usually done with the clutch. As far as preventing t/o bearing wear, I've always been told not to sit at lights with the clutch depressed. Always better to put it in neutral if you'll be stopped for a bit.

Unless they did not change the release bearing when they did the other work...
