Rattle issue

Rattle issue
I am new to the s2k family. I noticed yesterday when im not giving the car gas there like a rattle sound. In my past experience its a loose heat sheild or a hanger isnt connected. Anyone ever punched this before ? Just thought id ask before i put it on a lift

Yeah, most likely a heat shield. Happened to me and some others here too. For a cheap fix you can try to pop rivit the shield back into place or if no room use jb weld.
Some just remove the offending shield, but I don't suggest that.

There are shields for header & cat. Just get it underneath and see which ones are loose, which ones rattle if you wack them lightly.
If you still can't find which one it is, with car very safely off the ground, start it and when noise happens, put pressure on each shield one at a time. Use a piece of wood or something so you don't get burned. When you touch the noisey one noise will stop.

Ended up being the cam chain tensioner on mine,was an easy fix too

And for people to really help you out, you could always post a video recording of the noise.
As for me, I had a rattle that was rpm dependent and then later I could hear it during idle. I looked under at the CAT, it was missing some bolts, got an acquaintance to spot weld it together and the noise was gone.

How did you find out it was a bearing issue?
