Rapid clicking sound from L/R wheel area
Here's a link to a sound recording.
^ this was holding my phone with my arm hanging out and near the left rear wheel while coasting to a near-stop then moving again.
The clicking only occurs while turning to the right. It started maybe 300 miles ago as an occasional single loud "click" or two when hard cornering to the right - accelerating, decelerating, coasting, all the same as long as it was a hard corner to the right with vehicle weight transfer.
Re-torqued the rear axle nuts yesterday to 6 o'clock with no change (although it did fix the single click when starting to move forward or in reverse that's been driving me crazy, just never had time to do it)
The sound has progressively gotten worse but is still only heard while turning to the right, 30+ mph can hear it with just a slight right turn such as changing lanes quickly - as long as there is noticeable weight transfer.
And now it's to the point where when nearly stopped and just rolling it will make the noise but even coasting at 2 or 3 mph, the sound will stop when straightening out and turning to the left.
This is my '06 S2K, it was at stock height for 20,000 miles of its life and has gone just over 10,000 miles lowered just over an inch or so on Tein springs... I've read this can cause issues and noise from the cv joints having been worn from the previous angle/position?
Totally separate issue, but after this I'll figure out why yesterday for the first time ever I experienced an extended crank of about 4 seconds until the engine started, on a cold start. and today it happened on a warm-start after it was only off for 20 min or so. Only have time to diagnose one thing at a time
Thanks in advance for the input!
