so now it came back...this time tho its 1399 and 301...despite the plugs only having 21k mi on them, could the fact that they are 5 years old be an issue? i just dont understand why this doesnt happen on long trips, or under load even...just after a short trip to the store, and then upon leaving, when i start the car, there it is. im not feeling any misfire either

March 15: after ~150 KM CEL - Coasting to a stop (P0301 & P1399)
Change: Injector cleaner

March 17: after ~150 KM CEL - Coasting to a stop (P0301 & P1399)
March 19: after ~150 KM CEL - In Between 2-3 shift (P0301 & P1399)
Change: Injector cleaner

March 25: after ~500 KM CEL - Coasting to a stop (P0301 & P1399)
change: Valve Adjustment & Testpipe install & Coil Switch from Cyl1 to Cyl2

March 27: after ~50 KM CEL - Coasting to a stop (P0301, P0302, P1399)
Marhc 28: after ~500KM CEL - In neutral (P0301,P1399)
April 1st: after ~100 KM Cel - In Neutral (P0301, P0302, P1399)
Change: PCV Valve & New OEM Spark Plug Cyl 1 replaced

April 3st: after ~150 KM Cel - In Neutral (P0301, P0302, P1399)

From my troubleshooting steps, I can see Coil on Cyl 2 is bad. Now, what could be causing the misfire on Cyl 1 (Injector or other sensor)?

S2kmiami: What steps have you done?

We seem to have the same problem. I've noticed that it often happens while im about to take off (shift in first and getting ready to leave) or coasting to a stop in neutral. I did look at my freeze data and engine RPM is at 900.

Old sparkplugs? Let's just put it this way, I've had the spark plug recall done 3000 miles ago and still tried to replaced spark plug on CYL 1 and it did not fix the issue.

both times, i have started the car, and the light was just on...i drove it saturday on a 160 mi round trip, and it didnt ever come on, even under heavy load

and i havent done anything other than reset it...i want to check the plugs and do a compression test while they're out, but if i cant find someplace to do that for a fair price, im just going to reset the code and take the thing to carmax and sell it, i cant deal with this

Be patient, things like this often take time to diagnose or if you want to spend the money, bring it to a honda dealer(I've heard good stories of dealers finding the problem right away).

From what I understand, the problem isn't under load so it won't cause any problems exept for seeing that annoying CEL. I have a OBD2 reader and clearing the code is getting on my nerves.

For some reason, I did notice that having the airbox lid off makes it worst.

i talked to a guy at a dealer just now who was very helpful...he said something about possibly needing a pcm update, whatever that is...unfortunately i reset it again, and he said he needs it to be on, otherwise it truely is a needle in a haystack...he said to let him know when it comes back, and for $100 diagnostic fee they will see what the code tells them, as well as check my plugs and do a compression test, even if it is just a sensor or something stupid...we'll see what happens when i show up
