Random misfire after overrev

I've got the helms.

Fast Jack- Can you run a different pulley and get more boost? of course 300 ain't bad at all!

Gamble, good luck in trying to do at least part of the work yourself. I also believe that you can at least pull the head and put it back together. But you should definitely do everything by the book. Replace the bolts, replace the gaskets, scrape the old gasket material off, clean everything thoroughly, and torque everything to spec. Don't try to save time, and don't try to save money. Not on an engine. Not on THIS engine. Otherwise I'm sure you will learn a lesson or two the hard way.

Yep,smaller pulley more boost In Cali 6lbs is still smog legal and with more boost, more up grades IIRC would be necessary.

The timing has to be perfect, if you miss it by a tooth you're in deep shet again. The car will run like shet, or wont run at all. Worse case scenario, bent valves once again.

Like I said it's a pain in the arse to time the S, you have to remove the alternator, oil pan, and mess with the oil pump as well. you better know what you're doing, or else money money money... good luck man.

Turn the engine over by hand with all the spark plugs removed before attempting to start. This way, you can feel if there is any valve/piston contact.

You do have a FSM right?

If you don't know someone's financial position, then you probably don't know them well enough to let them drive your car.
