Random misfire after overrev

I got a tow home and I'm now troubleshooting in my garage. I'm going to do a compression test as soon as I get the right tool. At this point, I'm relatively sure that the timing belt was either stretched some or it was thrown off a tooth or two. Should I go ahead and tear the engine down to inspect my valves and retainers? There isn't any knocking in the engine. I'm planning on replacing the timing belt either way since the car has 75k miles on it.
Once there, you can either buy aftermarket valves/retainers or settle for AP2 retainers..
As for your chain, many peeps don't replace it but I did, during the overrev it could have stretched by a margin, just playing it safe.

It's a timing "chain" yes, but it's basically a belt with notches, right? Anyhow, I drove the car about 10 miles before making this thread and it still isn't knocking and hasn't gotten worse. Wouldn't you expect it have if it were a cracked retainer or a bent valve? Also, would a bent valve cause random misfire on all cylinders as well as the random multiple cylinder misfire? I would think that would only effect the cylinder with the bent valve.

Take off the valve cover and post up pictures of the intake side valves.

AP2 retainers are stronger and should be substituted for the ones you have now that are suspect.
