4373, please take a picture if you can and measure the core thickness. I am curious if they use a core like the factory with a similar fine fins. How much was the new radiator? are you running the lower temp thermostat and fan switches?? Which ones and what are the specs? Thanks

Interesting thign about temperature. When we dyno'd socal28's car we let it warm up to three bars. Then we made three passes with almost no cooling time between runs (a few seconds). On each consecutive pass the car put down more power. For some reason the S2K seems to like a warm engine to operate properly, at least on the dyno. Of course, we all know what happens to the power when it gets too warm. Perhaps the coolant temp needs to be high enough, but air temps need to be low.

Anecdotal information at best, but file it away for reference.

I have the Spoon thermoswitch, thermostat, and the cap. Once the engine warms up to 3 bars it will V-TEC. Sometimes the 3 spoon pieces will allow the car to cool down to only 2 bars. This doesn't effect V-TEC. I believe once the 3 bar temp is indicated the ECU doesn't care about limiting engagement. The nice thing about the lower temp is that the ECU doesn't retard the timing.

Does anyone have any good data on desirable/max oil temperatures? My experience and the data I have found is pretty sketchy..

80C (176F) Honda 'normal', I assume this is minimum.
104C (220F) ReedZ observed
110C (230F) where the red mark on some oil temperature guages start.
115C - 120C (239F - 248F) maximum recommended temp on many industrial engines.
