Radiator install
My mechanic quoted me roughly $380 installed for a Koyo radiator that he claims is identical to the Denso OEM one.. For that price, he'll install the Koyo radiator with new hoses and thermostat.. I was wondering if I should just buy the radiator, hoses, and thermostat online (all OEM parts) and install myself.. its about $430 for all the parts shipped.
How is the Koyo compared to the OEM Denso one?
also, I was looking at the write up for the radiator install and it seems pretty straightforward, but was wondering what people experienced on their first time installing an s2 radiator.
most places are looking for $150-$180 in labor for the install..id rather save that

Koyo is real nice, no comparison with OEM for the same price, definitely go with the Koyo it will be the last rad you will ever buy for the car.

Looks like they recently released a thinner rad for the s2000 as well - http://www.koyoradracing.com/news.asp?id=118 which replaces the 53mm one.

wait.. so thicker is not necessarily better? seems like it according to koyo's "improved" redesign. still leaning toward koyo for now but wondering if I should get the new thinner one..
my mechanic is great.. im in socal and he works on a ton of s2000's so he knows what hes doing..
dammit.. I mistook the koyo cooling radiator for the koyorad.. koyo r series is in the $300 range when I searched, making it more than the OEM one.. im guessing my mechanic was quoting me on the koyo cooling radiator

good find btw.. didn't find anyone selling it through google shopping but if you go to the authorized distributors section of koyo's website, there are a few vendors.. theres one here in socal that will ship for free for the holidays.. just gotta pay tax.. its about $350 for the new one out the door..but im going to try other vendors out of state to see if they have free shipping and are discounting the rad. might give this one a shot..

You can get Mishimoto's for around $250, but I always regarded Koyo's as being better rads. Either way I'd pay more money for one of these aftermarket units compared to a new Honda rad. I prefer all aluminum construction compared to plastic and aluminum.
I purchased S2000 rads from GT motoring in the past, but they are a good distance from Cali
