Radiator fan failing to turn on
My radiator fan is not turning on when it hits 3bars. I figured maybe its still not hot enough, so I waited til I took it for a 1hr drive up a mountain - then checked it whiel idling, still not clicking on.
My question is what sensors are in line to "turn on" the fan? The fans will both turn on when I turn on the AC so I know its not a fan/wiring problem. Im pretty sure its not a relay, since I swapped them around..same thing. Must check the fuses still but was just wondering if anyone had the same problem as me!
Thanks!

You know, I noticed this too, It's been driving me bonkers. I was stuck in traffic on a hot and I noticed the temp bars went to four...I freaked out and all I could do was turn on the AC. I still haven't figured out why yet. I also checked fuses and switched relays....I know this didn't help but at least your not the only one

do you have an aftermarket radiator ??? I am also having this issues right now. So we just jumped the wiring... so the FAN is always on hehehe But i still need to diagnose the problem. I also swapped my FAN switch and everything...

I just got an aftermarket radiator, but i kept the stock fans, stock switch, transfered everything over. The fans turn on with AC so Im just running AC constantly right now, lol.

ok I ran the FSM diagnostic - its my fan switch.
law, when you get a chance, try jump the pins on the fan switch connector with the ignition on. Be careful, the AC condensor fan (both) will switch on. If it does, its the fan switch.

There is two way (actually three) for your fans to be turned on. (00-05 cars only)
1. Fan Switch. It is factory set to close at Temp X (Too lazy to look up the temp)
2. The ECU. The ECU monitors the coolant temp and can turn on the fan.
3. The AC turns on the AUX fan.
