Default Which race tires should I get?

I'm not really sure where this belongs, but I'll put it in here...

Since my MF-10's are in and ready, picking them up on Wednesday!

I will be using the stock wheels for the track. What are your tire recommendations? I want a full race tire as these will never see street use.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I could only find the Hoosier and Kuhmo DOT radials in the correct overall diameter. All the "slicks" were too tall.

The Hoosier tires are the most popular track only tire with the people I talked to. The R3S03 don't come in the stock front size but there is a 245/45 for the rear.

Yea, I am figuring on Hoosiers, as I understand the Kumho's to be a fair amount heavier, in general.

Any specific Hoosier?

I know Jason Saini and team use Hoosiers. Jason, Brad, Juliann? You input, please?

Greg - they use DOT radials to be SCCA legal, not SLICKS.

Perhaps going OT (a little) but does anyone know anything about the new Falken track tire?

The all out slicks just don't fit so I think you have to stay with the DOT radials 225/50 ZR16 and like cdelena said 245/45 ZR16.

Maybe I bought more car than I can afford, but the Hoosier's are a bit too rich for my blood- I can tell you from extensive experience with Kumhos that they are good race tires. They performed identically to BFG R1's I've used for less money. Haven't ridden on Hoosier's before, though I hear they are light, sticky, and wear FAST.

Howabout Bridgestone Potenza 540s? These are high performance semi-slicks.
