Default Race gas

I just found a sonoco gas station near me that sells race gas it was 110 octane and it said leaded on the pump. i want to know if that is bad for our cars beacuse it is leaded or will it improve performance a little? Can i do 50/50 with 93 unleaded gas?

Lead will DESTROY your catalytic converter real quick. Even if you don't have a cat, there's not much point in using 110 octane when your car isn't tuned to use 110 octane. But then, it's your money and maybe the placebo affect will give you an extra 20HP.

I mix 50/50 the sunoco 100 ($4.49/gal) with the 93 octane for my big block vette 10.25:1 compression.

I wonder if the S2000 with 11:1 would benifit assuming the catalytic converter was replaced with a test pipe. My guess is it would get ugly fast.

my guess is the only thing that would happen is the timing would not back off at all i don't think there would be a hp gain what so ever i could be wrong and i'm sure someone with more knowledge will correct me

This whole Forum is the spot for guessing! I do it myself from time to time. I at
least appreciate the fact people warn the reader. As to the thread topic, lets be honest, all that is needed to buy any car is money. IQ/reasoning tests are not required.

I don't have a CAT. I run race gas all the time. Mostly C116 from VP. I also use Klotz 113. I can feel the diff. big time. It won't hurt if you run a 50/50 blend one time. If you use it a lot it will destroy the CAT. Plus I the sweet smell.

For a stock S2k, leaded race gas won't make any improvements since the ECU is designed to work with regular premium unleaded. The ECU won't advance timing if the engine is getting no knock, if only retards timing when it is.
