Default QuietCar Product Review

Bought the product, one gallon. Used the same roads/sections and several runs. Here are my averages for your review. These were taken just after painting and I will have a 7 day, entire car painted report in a week.

25mph in 3rd, 55mph in 6th and 70mph in 6th

Base Numbers
25 - 90db
55 - 92db
70 - 99db

Trunk Painted (3 coats thick)
25 - 88db
55 - 93db
70 - 98db

Doors Painted (2 thick coats, on outer panel)
25 - 88db
55 - 93db
70 - 94db <-- note only improvement

Passenger Floor Painted (3 thick coats, firewall, tranny casing, floor and back)
25 - 88db
55 - 93db
70 - 92db <-- note only improvement

Final Numbers (Everything painted and 7 days to dry)
25 - 88db
55 - 93db
70 - 93db <-- note variance to previous testing

Same DB tool was used while mounted in the cup holder pointing towards the front of the car.

I will be painting the driver's side firewall/floor/back in the coming week. Giving it 7-10 days to set and doing a final run.

Passenger Comment (wife) - noted a marginal improvement once I painted her side (passenger floor). She stated it seemed that less sound was coming from the floor.

DB Tool - says no major change.

I noted - that it was slightly easier to talk while in the car.

I did. Cannot seem to easily remove the clips without damaging the heat shield

Thoughts?

I did the same. 3 coats on trunk and floor boards. I drove it without the carpet for a week. And notice no difference in the interior but there was less exhaust drone coming in. When I put the carpet back, the difference was there. I wouldn't say dramatic difference but significant enough. Would I do it again? For $76 shipped, hell yeah!

Yeah, it appears larger without the liner. But it's not much more space.

Right now, I'm watching the paint dry on the drivers side. I just poured it on this time.

8.5lbs if I use the entire container. I estimate 5-6lbs.

I figure we're all a few lbs heavier then we should be so I'm not worried about it.

99 to 92 dB is significant given it's on a log scale.

It also gets quieter after it dries.
