Default Quickie Question

I'm heading out to Sears after work to purchase a socket for my torque-wrench so I can verify my plugs are properly seated.

Anyone know the size I should get? It's all pretty standard, yah?

There are only two sizes: 13/16" and 5/8" (which I think is also 16mm). You want the 5/8" one.

Yeah, i was curious about the same thing. I bought the 5/8 about two weeks, but haven't tried it yet.

And you really want one of the real spark-plug sockets with the rubber insert to grip the plugs.. You can loosen the plugs with a standard deep socket, but it won't hold onto the plug to extract it.

I found that using a spark plug socket to loosen and remove the plug worked well. But when trying to install the new plug, the spark plug socket I have kept coming off of the extension rather than the spark plug. My solution was to lower the plug into the head using one of those magnetic extension thingies. Then thread the plug and tighten it with a standard deep-well socket.

My solution was to tape the socket to the extension.
