If you're going to run 10psi or so, I would invest in an intercooler as well. That kind of boost and I'm worried about detonation. SCs don't come with an intercooler like the turbo kits. Some people may tell you otherwise, but I'd much rather throw in an extra grand for the intercooler/piping/install than buy another motor down the road.

Just my .02

Because of the high compression ratio and no room for error I would run an intercooler if you were only going to run 4 psi!!

hi everybody

I still have not got the answer to my question...
I blow a rod so I have to open the engine, so I think to lower the compression to 9:1

so with this setting:

1- 9:1 compression
2- Stock injectors
3- VAFC
4- Comptech SC
5- 98 oct fuel@$5.00 per gallon

Which is the smallest pulley (9 psi?) that I can run without problems

My goal is 280 whp but if I have to lose some hp using a bigger pulley I dont care I want a daily driven car

How are you going to lower the compression? I didn't think there were any 9:1 pistons available.

Didn't they have to sleeve the block to do it?

My car can easily be run day in and day out without problems or complications at 330 RWHP without all the hassles it takes to climb above this level. This is: Vortech SC w/aftercooler, Apexi VAFC and a good tuner and a couple of hours of dyno time, IK24 plugs, 2.5 inch exhaust, mugen cooling goodies and the Exedy clutch. I found this to be a great combo for horsepower and reliability. I haven't had to f__k with it at all since getting it all dialed in!! Go Vortech for the extra horsepower, 3yr warranty and a FMU, blow off valve and aftercooler. PS: If anyone would like to see my dyno sheet from the Dynojet 248 I have posted it and it can be faxed to you- just PM me. PT

I just recently ordered and received my vortech kit for all of the above reasons.

I will be getting a rebored 70mm TB from proflow to throw into the set up.

I already have a vafc, IK24's & 2.5" sinlge outlet JIC full ti exh. to offset the weight gained from the SC.

Engine will remain untouched.

upgrading to ACT PP and Toda Flywheel. I will obtain and use a new OEM friction disk.
