Spitfire, I don't remember which brand of pad I was comparing on Tire Rack, but the entire part number was the same. I would look them up again, but I am on my Droid. Besides, I just finished a set of Civic Si Carbotech XP8 front pads on my S2K.

2006 Civic SI
Front pad (set) 45022-SVB-A02
Front rotor 45251-SVB-A50 300mm diam.

S2k
Front pad (set) 45022-S2A-000
Front rotor 45251-S2A-000 300mm diam.

If the first 5 numbers are the same does that mean the part is the same?
Nope. General rule for Honda part numbers is:

XXXXX-YYY-ZZZ

XXXXX = general type/purpose of part (e.g. front brake rotor, left rear shock, door handle)
YYY = chassis/drivetrain/application code (S2000-specific chassis parts are often S2A, S2000-specifc drivetrain parts are often PCX or PZX)
ZZZ = part version (often 000 for a newly-developed part; differences can indicate different regions, model-year updates, etc.)

Examples:
For ignition coil packs, XXXXX = 30520. Typing that into a Honda parts database will return all the ignition coil packs used in all Hondas. For the S2000 in particular, there have been three different parts:
2000-2003 P/N: 30520-PCX-007
2004-2005 P/N: 30520-PNA-007 (superceded by -RRA-007)
2006-2009 P/N: 30520-PZX-007

For front brake pads, XXXXX = 45022. The U.S. S2000 pads are:
2000-2003 P/N: 45022-S2A-000
2004-2009 P/N: 45022-S2A-E50
For rear pads, XXXXX = 43022. The U.S. S2000 rear pads have never changed:
2000-2009 P/N: 43022-S2A-000

However, in Europe, the front and rear pads for all model years is 4x022-S2A-E50 (x=5 for front, x=3 for rear).

The S2000 front and rear rotors appear to always have been the same (all years, all markets):
Front: 45251-S2A-000
Rear: 42510-S2A-000
