Default Quick help...please.

A friend of mine was jumping her car and had the cables on right with the car that was running, but on the car that was dead she had them reversed. To make matters worse, she left it like that for over a minute while she went inside to do something, when she came out the car had smoke in the engine bay and inside the car, can you tell me what type of damage could be done?

Thanks for any responses in advance.

Andrew

I think it's just the batterie that ends up getting damaged. I'm pretty sure if you leave it long enough, it goes KABOOM!

Although, I have never tried it.

The ECU and stereo could be damaged, since they are powered all the time.

So the battery, the ECU, and the stereo...doesn't seem so bad. Hmmm...

Thanks for the replies guys!

It would effect all that? I would think that because the battery isn't "charged" the current never reaches the other components. But I'm jst speculating as I usually am.

There are fuses that protect these components. They will blow and kill the power to the entire car.
