Quick clutch buzz question

Quick clutch buzz question
Hi, looking at a 2001. There is noise from the tranny (eminating from the console area) and the clutch pedal has a vibration when decelerating (with foot resting on pedal but not engaged). Is this the "usual clutch buzz" or is this something else altogether?

Hi this is my first post on s2ki, and I didn't want to make a thread asking question that's been mentioned before.
Can someone describe to me the mechanical reason why the clutch "buzz". I test drove a 2000 w/ 100k and I can hear a horrible noise from the clutch. I thought it was a extremely shot throw out bearing, but i guess not. So what is a "clutch buzz"?

What happens is during deceleration between about 4500 to 3000 RPM the springs on the clutch plate hit a resonation point and they vibrate and that is the "buzz" you here.
It does not hurt the car. I don't know if there is a vibration on the pedal because I don't rest my foot on it.

Actually...
Clutch buzz is audible gear backlash.
It is a resonation in the gearbox, decelerating between 4.5k and 3k rpm , most of it in 2nd or 3rd gear.
Why mostly in 2nd or 3rd?
Because those gears are in a position in the gearbox where they generate a vibration.
This should be dampened by the springs in the clutch disk.
But they don't.
So you hear the backlash.
Buzz buzz.
All gears NEED backlash, btw.
Harmless.
edit:
For got to quote to official Honda statement.
It's not that I've figured this out by myself.

I remember clutch buzz... this jerky girl I took out one night in 2000 thought I was wrecking my brand new car. I had it taken care of ASAP under the TSB. It may be harmless but it sure sounds horrible.
