1x roll of heat reflective material (designed to be placed behind household radiators to reflect the heat back into the room for a bit more efficiancy)
1x tin of spray on glue
All sounds pretty flammable to me

Some people did this years ago, but insulated the inside of the air box instead. The insulation slows the warm up of the air box, so you get cooler air temps for a period of time, but eventually the extra insulation normalizes. By slowing the heat absorption, you do get cooler intake temps by around 10° while it is effective, I think.

Looks like it will help with intake temps, but its not very pretty haha. I gutted and insulated the inside of my airbox. After a good drive with the engine at normal operating temperatures I stopped and opened the lid and it was really cool in there still. So I know it helps a little.

It certainly seems to be keeping the intake cooler. But granted its not terribly attractive. This isnt a show car however and really the only time the bonet is opened is when its being checked, maintained or cleaned. Like i say, it was a little progect for me to get my teath into on one particularaly dull afternoon and its turned out to be somewhat effective for a short period of time anyway.

I will swap it out for a J's or Mugen number at some point though
