What procedure did you use?

Did you take it to the rev limiter and hold it there until the speed stabilized? Because there's a delay in the update of the speedo, and if you simply accelerated then shifted near redline you likely weren't as close to the rev limiter as you thought you were.

Also, if somebody simply installed a 4.30 rear gear without doing anything else, the speedo would show the exact same thing as before the install - it'd simply be wrong for the actual speed of the car. (The speed sensor is in the transmission, before the final drive gear.) If they did something to then correct the speedo readout, there'd be an aftermarket box somewhere under the dash to modify the speedo signals. I suspect your issue is simply a false perception on your part. My first guess is that there's neither anything wrong, nor any mods to affect your gearing. I could be wrong, but...

I think above posters may be right. You aren't actually riding the rev limiter to see the true top speed, the gears are very short on the ap2.

OP is just used to the ap1 gearing and over-thinking it
