question on j's 4.44 or rick's 4.57 final gears?
hi i am on the process on thinking which final gear is better...my friend has a j's 4.44 final gear used for 3-4 months for sale but i also looking into the rick's 4.57 gears...anyone has experience with both and can tell me which one is better? like which one is stronger and lasts longer?

Better? For what? This depends on what you're doing with the car. The fact that you ask, do you really know what these "gears" do?
Stronger? Since noone has done any metallurgy on either, it's hard to say. I've had my J's for a while now and have never had a problem with them under F.I. As for Rick's, they haven't been around that long, so noone can say for sure. But since the 4.57s are Richmond gears, they will make more noise because it is a typical characteristic of that manufacturer.

What type of track do you do? Autox or race track? I'm not sure about others, but I dont think there is that drastic of a difference between .44 and .57's.
My 4.44's do make a little bit of noise.
Good news about the strength of the gears is that I havent heard of anyone blowing a rear with them in yet.
BTW Your sig looks like a trailer for a movie(coming soon)

I would go by which ratio fits your home race track the best. Assuming you want to avoid bouncing off the rev limiter and excessive shifting. One ratio may be advantageous over the other and only you can decide.
