Default Question on aftermarket fuel and VTEC computers

Are these units worth the money? Do they make a significant differance in the horsepower? Is it beneficial to adjust the car so VTEC kicks in earlier?
How difficult are these units to set up and use?

An aftermarket engine management controller can be of benefit on a stock car but you really need to know your stuff to get any gain (and have access to a good dyno). Both fuel and engine management are much more important when you blow or squeeze the motor (i.e. supercharge or turbocharge).
