Question about Service Bulletins
I have an '06 car that the bumper to bumper is about to run out, and I wanted to have the dealership take a look at the roof latches that have been increasingly more noisy as time goes along. I downloaded the service bulletin dated April 1, 2003 for all MY up to that point about how to fix the rattles, and another SB about replacing the strikers to the hard top strikers to prevent the squeaks and rattles. Since these came out before my car was produced obviously, do you think that I could use them as proof they need to take care of it, since it is obvious that the same problems persist in my car?

I get that, but if a service bulletin was put out in '03, and the same problems are still present in the MY '06, does the original service bulletin cover problems not corrected in subsequent cars?

IIRC, you probably have the 'hartdtop' strikers already. They just get worked and start to rattle no matter what.
You can tighten up the latches on the A frame yourself which should help.. just remove the plastic housing around the windscreen and you will see the bolts holding the latches.

So would it still be possible for them to fix said rattles with the latches under warranty even if there isn't a service bulletin? Print them out and take them with me to show possible causes even though the car is not expressly covered by said bulletin?

I am having same problems with my roof clips right now. I went to the dealer for some other TSBs in regards to wheel clicking and they quickly tried to give me some BS reason other than the TSB for what was causing it. I have an extended warranty which I am pretty sure expires later this year. I am guessing most likely it may dependent on the dealer you go to. Some play ball some others are just not going to budge at all.

He is under warranty still so they shouldn't give him too much bullsh. Getting TBSs fixed OUT of warranty is a PITA because they are not recalls.. not even close.. so all service will be good will.

Just wanted to update that I dropped the car off at the dealership today, had a ride along with one of the managers, and of course the rattles were almost non-existent for most of the ride. As it always happens. But the driver side latch did start rattling during some turns, and I did point out even before we started that you can just tap your finger against the side of the latches and you get that wonder rattling sound where there is no cushion between the metal pieces.
Manager was a really good guy, asked if you put pressure on the latches if it goes away, which it does, and said that sometimes it was something inside the windshield housing, but seemed to just be the latches. They are taking a look at it now, said that he has one guy that is pretty well versed in the S2K tops, and is also looking at the plastic panels in the "well" where the top rests, since one of the plastic screws is missing from where they replaced the fabric on the top. I think it helps that they already had their hands in the guts of the top that they really want protest too much, but so far they are really doing their due diligence with trying to see if they can fix it.
I will let everyone know what happens, but I'll give a plug to Breakaway Honda in Greenville, SC. They have done everything with my car and is who I bought it certified-used from.
