Question about rod knock in general
I understand that the primary cause for the big end bearings to fail is due to a low oil level. This hasn't happened to me before and from what I have researched, the dreaded noise is like 2 marbles hitting together (if anyone has a better description please feel free to share).
But my question is, has anyone had any symptoms of the big ends going (i.e a noise getting progressively worse) or do they just let go without any warning.
Any other information insight into this would be very interesting for people that this has happened to

I had rod knock due to low oil. Then i replaced the pistons..then got a faint knocking..metallic like ur describing...it started off pretty quiet but as time went on it got a little louder until 2weeks ago i spun a bearing on the same cylinder that had originally got the rod knock... U can pm me for more info though i am no expert on these motors...just sharing mt experience...billman is the local expert and he knows his stuff. Try shooting him a message if u got a question.
