Default question about replacing valves.

Hi,

I replaced some bent oem exhaust valves with oem spec supertech valves. Now i'm wondering, is it ok that the dimples are different sizes on the bottoms of the valves? The supertech bottoms have a much deeper dimple than the oem ones. Is this going to effect the compression of the cylinders at all since there will be a slight slight volume difference or am I just paranoid?

These are supertech

These are oem

Sorry I guess no one have an answer to your question. To me I think it will change your compression but it would be slightly small to make a difference. Let us know when you install and take it for a spin if you do notice a change.

Drops the compression very slightly.

I would look at getting some supertech retainers while you have it apart. They are 2/3 the weight of standard units, and combined with the lighter valves should help avoid another set of bent valves.

If I was replacing the valves I would cut the seats and mill a poofteenth of the head to restore the surface. Could be worth getting this done at a reliable machine shop.
