Question about oil amount. Please help?
First of all, how full on the dipstick reading should your oil be?
Second, I asked my dealer service deptartment about the amount of oil between the "L" and "H" on the dipstick and he said it was equal to 1/4 of a quart. This seems incorrect, for all of my other vehicles(including other Hondas and Acuras), the dip stick measured about 1 quart between the "L" and the "H". Meaning, if the oil read on the "L", then I would add 1 quart in order to raise the level of the oil to the "H", thus a full oil reading.
Please advise and thank you.

Try and keep it within 1x of the H mark. And yes it takes approximately 1 qt to go from the L mark to the H mark on the dipstick. Each x is approximately 1/10 of a qt.
When changing your oil, it takes approximately 5.6 qts to re-fill the oil pan. Assuming you get a good drain with the car level and change the filter. Both the Helms manual and the Owner's manual are mis-printed with 5.1 qts for a re-fill.

I agree with Gloffer, except that I put just a tad more in mine (5.75 quarts) after a level 1 hour drain (warmed up oil prior to the drain). I make sure to cover all the X's on the stick and get right to the top letter. It never foams, so it's not too high.

Thanks for the replies!
I filled it to the "H" before posting this thread, so I hope that is ok.
I am using Castrol GTX oil. The car has 9000 miles and is a 2000. Sound good?
Thanks again.
