one time my car ate a boulder, there was little i could do but pray and wait..... boom CLANG BANG. Luckily no major damage underneath but its times like this that one wonder about things like the fumoto.

One of the guys on the last Dragon run had his fall off during the run. The resulting oil slick caused a Harley rider behind him to lay his bike down. The owner of the S swears he tightened it to spec.

Bringing back an old thread. I noticed that my fumoto loses a few drips of oil every day. It's at least hand-tight right now and I don't want to overtighten.

Anyone have any install tips? I'll probably pull it during my next oil change and inspect it.

maybe put some type of heat resistant sealant on it?

no negative experiences here yet. in fact it's pretty sweet...if you really need to, you can do oil changes without jacking the car up (i have an aem v2 which makes things easier).

You can do oil changes from the top without the Fumoto valve as well. No argument on it makes things easier though. I may or may not buy one based on the few times each year that the oil gets changed.

Fumoto sent me new washers last week to help my leakage problem. I reinstalled the valve and noticed that for some reason, I added a metal washer between the adapter and the valve during my original installation

true. personally, i don't like spending extra time on things like changing the oil if i don't have to -- even having the drain valve for one oil change was worth it for me. all you have to do is lift up the tab, drain the oil, lock the tab back into place. no need to get your hands dirty from the drain bolt or worry about any torque values.

if there was any question to the reliability of the thing, i probably wouldn't have gotten it. however, i think they advertise that there's never been a product failure in the field? not from user error i mean.
