i thought rev-matching has nothing to do with the synchros since you are not skipping gears?

You don't need to "double clutch" in a car with syncros.

Clutch in... rev match & shift to lower gear... clutch out.
Unless it's an Alfa transaxle...

As long as your are downshifting and goosing the gas a little, you are rev matching. Proper rev-matched shifts should be so smooth, that a passenger wouldn't even know you shifted.

How are you not skipping gears. You revmatch to down shift.

Are you not skipping from a higher gear to a lower?

i mean skipping gears as say from 4th to 2nd
thats not so good for the synchros.

On a different topic, i thought rev matching has nothing to do with the synchros?

Maybe you should state your questions as such:

What is rev-matching?

What are synchros?

Once you learn what they are......then you will know how they relate to eachother.

After reading your original post again.....it sounds to me like you need to practice learning to drive a manual transmission and getting smooth transitions first before worrying about skipping gears, synchros and rev-matching....

No thats ok. Jumping gears on the upshift.. ie... 2 - 5 is bad for the syncros.

No offence dude but have you read any of those links I posted?
