so would u try all this if u were me?
The Hondata thing is a big job and IMO, it's also not worth it to me. The engine bay gets really hot as it is and an insulator may only provide relief for a short time till the rest of the heat catches up. As for blocking off the coolant flow to the TB and IAC, a couple of 3 cent ball bearings will do the same trick.
If I had the time and wanted to put in the effort, I'd like to do an INTAKE wrap (not commercially available) and the Hondata thing. One without the other just seems like a lot of work for just going "part way".

Seriously, stop being such a brand-name whore. You constantly flame Megan coilovers too when there are people using them with very good results...especially since you have absolutely no experience with them. The Megan header is also showing a 7 whp gain at peak with increased midrange too. Just b/c it doesn't cost $1500 and isn't imported from Japan doesn't make it junk. FYI: The Megan S2000 gained 15 whp with their header, testpipe, and catback.

The DC headers have been proven to lose horsepower, Megans have been proven to gain.
Yes, speed does cost money, but more money does not always equal more speed.

Heat wrap has a (1) advantage, that is keeping less heat out of the engine bay. The disadvantages out way the advantage(IMO). First it will most likely void any warranty offered buy the company, second if you decide the wrap is not working for you then you have a header that looks like A$$ once you take the wrap off, and third the heat that normally would be radiating off the header is being retained and could cause cracks and destroy the header.

I'm thinking about one. I'd like more dynos to be done, but the thing is....this header is *cheap*! If it makes some *gain*, even if a little, it is worth it. Plus you're losing a little weight.
My next choice would be Rick's header, but even that is $400 more and designed for an AP1.
All the JDM headers, even used, are $900+. I would love to have one of them, like the J's, but if I'm spending 1200+ on a header, and buy equally expensive I/E, then I might as well have bought a Supercharger/Turbo.

I have one on my car i have no complaints..well i kinda wish it was carb legal but whatever...I dont really see 5hp gain as being that big of a deal..
now the weight loss on the other hand,,,that is obvious....I would imagine of someone wants to get a really nice header have one custom made out of ti...light and i bet if the right person made it it would flow pretty good....
