Pushing shifter into gear - 'seems' harder
#11
Hey Matt, have you taken the center console off and taken a look under the shifter plate. There are several parts in there that are plastic and maybe had cracked or something came loose. Take a look at this http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...ry5=SHIFT+LEVER.
See 7 or 8. Might be worth a look.

2 ways:
#1 - just drop it in boiling hot water but then you have to wipe it dry.
#2 - put it in a thin! sandwich bag before dropping it into the water.
When I did this I thought about boiling the water with the cover in, but it sinks to the bottom.
So I was worried it would "melt" where it was touching the bottom of the pan.
Did you get the Shin-Etsu $$$ but stuff?

I have Shin-etsu, but the TSB calls for urea grease, so that's what I ordered. My last pivot was more of an open cup you sat in the transmission, I guess you boil the Honda one to get it over the bottom of the shifter?

I thought the Shin-Etsu was urea grease?
Last time I saw an "OEM urea grease" container it had "Lithium complex grease" on the label.
That is NOT the same.
Watch out for it.
The OEM cup firmly sits on the shifter' ball-end.
A new one might crack (when its cold) if you try to push it over the ball-end.
Warm = soft (in this case)
When you say: "open cup you sat in the transmission" I'm beginnig to think that is your shifting problem.
