Where on the pedal is it located at? Would any of you happen to have a pic for where the clutch/starter interlock switch?

I put in a clutch/starter interlock defeat switch. Short those two wires and you take the interlock device out of the equation. Why did I do it? At a time when people were freaking out about how an aftermarket HD clutch pressure plate would result in crank walk, I did it just to show how to do it. Crank walk due to a HD PP is still unproven and is still a myth, but some S2000 owners just have to blame it on something.

Or, push on the clutch pedal and see what part of that switch gets hit. Then push that part of the switch with your finger as hard as you can and hit the starter button. Make sure you have the tranny in neutral and the ebrake firmly pulled. Have a helper just in case you forgot to do one or the other. If it works, the switch may simply need to be adjusted so the pedal will hit it firmly. If it doesn't work, then look elsewhere.

SOMETIMES, a car that lights up the dashboard, headlights, etc. but does nothing when attempting to start simply has dirty/corroded battery connections. Not always, but sometimes. The problem can be intermittent.

It takes 15 minutes and zero dollars to clean them. Eliminate the simple/cheap things first.

First, remove the ground strap (-) from the battery; then remove the positive (+). Now clean both posts and the inside of the cable terminals until they're shiney, like chrome. Use a wire brush, sandpaper, a knife blade, or whatever else you have at hand. Just make the metal shine. Then install the positive cable (+), then the ground (-). Smear some grease around the outside of the cable ends to prevent future corrosion.

You may, or may not, have fixed the problem. But always eliminate the simple, cheap things first.

For around $5 at any auto parts store you can buy a "battery brush": one end has a hole with wire bristles inside to put down over the battery posts and rotate to clean them. The other end has a cylindrical wire brush to insert into the cable ends, rotate, and clean the insides. Money well spent, since you can use it for many years. But it's strictly optional: I've used sandpaper, Scotchbrite, a penknife, and God knows what else to do the job. When the car won't start and you need to go somewhere, you use whatever is at hand.
