Push Start Button help!
Hey guys, i've searched the forum, but couldn't find the answer for the problem i'm having. On cold starts, my push "start" works. But, sometimes after the car has been ran, even for like a quick 3 min, i try to start the car again, and the push "start" doesn't work. No crank, no nothing. No sound of anything, like as if the button was disconnected or something. But on cold starts it'll start perfectly fine. I don't think it's the battery 'cause battery was changed out about 2 months ago. Car is a 2001. Anyone know what it may be?

Yea everything works when on "on." i guess i'll have to remove the button and check if everything is connected properly and secure. Anyone know if i'm going to have to remove the whole dash for it? Or is there a shorter and easier way to do it.

Take your car to Autozone and have them do that free basic volt test on battery, alt and starter, which these will probably all check out good. There could be a few different problems but it sounds like starter heat soak, this has happened to all my civics/integras during the summer and I just had to get heat shields for the starter. I am new to the s2000 so I am not 100% sure on how the starter operates on this model so might want to look that up first but heat shields run like $20-$50. I dunno what this would have to do with the "start" button itself but might want to check the contacts like Jimi suggested first. This issue sucks to trouble shoot, I have had to do it about 3-4 times, if you don't hear your fuel pump prime you could have a main relay problem.
