Pulled out the magnetic oil drain bolt to these two little surprises...any ideas??

Like the kind I used to see in motorcycles. Piston pin wrist bearings.

This guy pulled little pins like yours from his head. Turned out he broke a rocker, might have been the needle bearings on the roller rocker. You can see it starting at ~5:45

The alignment pins in the camshafts for the trigger plates are also just that size.

Default Here are the pictures of the VC removed

So last week I went ahead and removed the valve cover. I saw that there was no scoring/damage that I could feel with my fingertip. No pitting either. Does this help narrow things down at all?

This thread has me wondering if I would be better off without the Fumoto valve I have installed.

how many miles did you put on the cams? maybe you should inspect and take pics of your cam journal. Thats typically where your can see some wear. I have bc cams also so I'm curious this is a direct result

billman250 has a thread on aftermarket head cams self destructing. i highly suggest you check out that thread, and shoot him a PM.
