You are definitely doing no harm by starting the car and driving it. It's a car that's what you do with cars.

Whatever you do, DO NOT clear the check engine light. You'll lose the fuel trim data, and there will be no way to diagnose the car.

The info people post on this board is pure speculation.

The only way to properly determine the cause is to know which way the fuel trim is leaning. There will be a snap shot of this data saved with the codes. So don't clear it. Stored codes do not have any affect on the engine running condition.
He already knows what the codes are . All missfire codes from a more than likely flooded engine . I would clear them and see if the car recodes the same codes . If it does then a more comprehensive diagnostic evaluation should follow . That just my opinion though .

Yes I understand he know's the codes. But he does not know the data that is stored with each.

He COULD clear it and see if it recodes. If it does, it is possible it recodes for the same problem. But it is not definite.

If it doesn't, he will never know what caused it, and will have a new thread next spring for misfire codes.

Of all the misfire code threads, I have never seen someone properly diagnose it.

The fuel trim data would eliminate the guess work.

Part of an evaluation is to know all the facts. The chance to have them all is right there for the taking. Unless the light is cleared.

I really care about this car, he's my record holder for CLEANEST s2k I've ever work on

Thanks for all that posted. I greatly appreciate the input. The CEL freaked me out a little. I'm going to take it out this afternoon for some easy cruising and see if the roughness subsides.

Bill, I'll send you a PM. I'd like to get on your service calendar and have you give it a more thorough review. Per your earlier posts, I won't clear the codes. And don't worry, the car is still real clean.
