Default Proper Winterizing

Well it's about that time of year to put the car to sleep for the winter. Anyone have any suggestions of the best way to do this?

What I have done the first two winters is this.

1) Get a full tank of gas
2) Wash the car
3) Put the car on stands
4) Remove wheels
5) Put cover on car
6) Shut the garage door

Why do you guys put your S2000 away for the Winter? I'm actually North of you (Wisconsin), and plan to drive the car anytime the roads are dry this Winter (no snow or ice!).

Put on a set of BF Goodrich g-Force KDW's and keep on trucking thru the wet times

It's good to be in the south

Salt is a bad, bad thing for a car made of steel.

I have a daily driver - why drive a convertible in the winter?

Yup, that means NSX is more a winter car than S2000 ...

Why bother keeping a convertible around when it's going to be driven like a coupe all winter? I'd rather put it away, save the miles, save the insurance money, and slog through the winter in a beater. And what happens when you get caught in a snow storm, or encounter blowing snow on the highway? Not likely, but not worth the chance IMO.

Also, oublaj is from fort edward which according to MapQuest is in the mountains, so he probably sees a lot more snow than we do.

Brad (and others):

What are your thoughts on Stabil (fuel stabilizer)? Just go with a full tank? I'll be storing my car in a heated garage so it won't freeze or anything.

I haven't used Stabil either winter I have stored the car. I think if you are storing the car for over 6 months it might be a good idea. Mine is usually out of service from mid-November to late March or early April.

I haven't had a problem with only a full tank of gas.
