Default problem with clutch install

ok so i got my competition clutch stage 2 kit and i came across a problem that someone can probably clear up for me:

-The center of this disc that slides into the tranny shaft sticks out as opposed to the stock disc that is flush inside the disc... it basically prevents me from having the bearing sit in place and assemble properly...anyone know how i deal with this...the part number on my disc seems to be correct- dont know- HELP

i know there only one way to go in... that is the front side and it looks like the piece is sticking out too much on my new disc .. why is that?

The throwout bearing pulls on the pressure plate, it is installed between the disc and pressure plate, when the trans is installed the bearing is retained by the clutch fork, away from the disc.

How are you installing the bearing?

i bolted the flywheel fine..i then slid in the clutch disc onto the tranny shaft with the bearing in the center of the disc, but the bearing wont sit right onto the disc as it would on the stock disc... what do you suggest?

The clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing have to be attached to the flywheel before the trans can be put back on... The throwout bearing does not contact the stock disc in any way.

ok so i should assemble the clutch disc , then throwout bearing and then pressure plate first as one unit, then attach that to the flywheel ,and bolt the entire flywheel/clutch kit after?

The flywheel is bolted to the crankshaft.

Then the disc, and pressure plate and throwout bearing are bolted to the flywheel.

The throwout bearing goes between the disc and the pressure plate.

An alignment tool must be used to center the disc to the pilot bearing center bore in the flywheel.

ok let me try it that way , my only concern is that the bearing will not sit properly on the disc, is that what the alignment tool is used for?
