thanks for the answers. I took it in today and they said the brakes were seized up. $800 in repair costs (includes brake fluid flushing/oil change/ inspection)

Based on discount parts prices that I quoted above, $75/hr labor rate, and a generous amount of time:
Parts = $255
Labor = 4 hrs @ $75/hr = $300
Total = $555

Thus, $800 is high. Bring it down to South Florida and I'll do the job for $500 even .

They said it needed a new rotor, new calipers i think, new pads and the other rotor needed to be resurfaced.

I am not 100% sure what they are doing.

Also oil change, break fluid flush, and inspection.

They ordered the parts today and will be doing the work tommorow. Is there anything I can do if I am getting ripped off?

Sounds like they are replacing the calipers instead of rebuilding them. That will add to the expense of the repair. If they are replacing the rotor on one side of the car the other side should be replaced too.

An oil change will add about $30 to the job, and the brake fluid flush is part of caliper replacement.

Negotiate. Failing that, take the car somewhere else.
