Problem With Aem Ems
#11
Uego = WB02 = wideband 02 sensor..... has it always had problems starting up with the AEM?
I would say check your
1 ) plugs
2) ensure that your stat sync is on
3) the EMS is seeing at least 12.5V

the aem allows you to do things with ease....if you know what to do
I hope this is the right way to do it 2
(for the 1.03 version)
to fix idle, go to the idle wizard
1. set the "high idle rpm offset" to 200
2. adjust the idle target base table to 900 in the warm-hot engine operating temp range
if the engine does not idle at 1100
3.highlight the idle% & target graph and hit - if engine idle higher than 1100 and vice versa.....repeat this until you get the engine to idle around 1100.
I tried to get the moderator to set up a library/sticky for the aem ems before. However this got merged to the TorqueFreak's aem promotional thread. I still think such library will be very useful to everyone. I wish that a moderator will listen.

as for the start,
the aem will take a few more crank than the stock ecu to start because it need mroe time to sense the cam and crank positions.
If it's take mroe than a few crank cycles to start then you will need to adjust your cold start setting. The best way to do this is described in the aem forum. If you don't have time to play around with your aem ems then there is really no point posting on here for instruction. Your best bet is to take it back to your tuner(s).

I stopped reading the replied about half way down the list. This story is classic. The replies you are getting are very specific replies and tackle very specific parts of the huge problem (singular) that you truely have. YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO A TUNER WHO KNOWS WHAT S/HE IS DOING. For the love of god, before you blow your motor up.....
Not to sound like a dick, but if you guys can't figure out how to get your car to start within 45 seconds, what do you think will happen when your car is running at 9000 rpm, at 9 psi?
Turning your starter does not make your spark plugs black. Does the starter have a paint brush in there? Maybe your car isn't starting BECAUSE your spark plugs are black? Why would the spark plugs be black? If your tuner can't answer that question, you NEED to find someone else. (same goes if you are the tuner, unfortunatly)
So after all that, if you want me to tune your car, let me know.

That would be cool, but Florida is a little far for me. You are right though, I do need a better tuner. I was planning on taking this thread to the tuner and showing him the ideas people have, hopefully it won't offend him. Thanks for you're imput gentlemen.
