Default PRM intake HP losers

Whats up guys......

Ive been reading about the PRM losing HP. I dont have the cash for a DYNO run, so Ill just trust everone else. I have the PRM. I love the sound, etc.... I do not notice any loss, but some of you claim that it is there. Some people (tenblade) claim to get it back by changing the air filter. My question is what filter can I replace thatll give me more/reclaimed power than the original PRM filter. Thanks for the help!

I don't know about any loss of power. If there is it'd be because there's not enough fresh air. Cut out the duct to get fresh air to the horn.

With nothing other than lightweight pulleys and the PRM I dyno'd at 212 on Comptech's dyno....don't have a pre-PRM intake number, but 212 ain't bad at all. I also had run-ins with other S2000s on the street and I always seemed to have a slight advantage.

I can tell you that throttle response was improved greatly.

How long ago did you get your PRM? I have heard that they may have changed filters that they ship it with.

I dyno'd at 205 with nothing but the PRM and dual spugens last year when I got my car, highest of any non FI S that day.

Just my 2 cents though...

I have the PRM and have not noticed any power loss. I'm running it with a K&N filter. I do believe the first ones that ever came out had problems with the filter, but haven't heard anyone complain since they resolved that issue.

Hard to say. Conflicting results are showing up.

Elistan....thats what I mean. I havent noticed any loss of power, and better throttle response. I have a cutout for the front bumper etc....

Im just looking at members who dynoed their cars and lost power. But since some of you are claiming gains, then I feel better. I didnt notice a loss, but a 5hp difference is impossible to notice by the "butt dyno"

I know this probably doesn't mean much, but I ran my PRM with another 2k with a 4IG from a roll and we were dead even.
